"Lazy" Days of summer...

Well, it is official. Avery is out of school for summer! She had SUCH a great year at school. She had sweet teachers who took good care of her, she made great new friends, AND she had FUN! Avery is not going to school this summer but I do have her enrolled in a couple of fun things so we have a few things to look forward to.

Avery and Mrs. SaraAvery and her music teacher, Mrs. Whitney To celebrate summer- we met Brett for a picnic lunch on Friday at La Fortune. The weather was perfect for a park day and Avery had fun playing. Anna...well, she napped but she was still having fun :-) After our park adventure Avery was ready for a nap but she didn't want to sleep in her bed...she wanted to sleep in "Gigi's" bed or the guest room. When I went up to check on her she had moved the pillows, turned around backwards and she appears to have fallen asleep in the middle of her playtime adventure! We tried for another park day over the weekend but it was too hot- that scares me for the months to come! We only lasted about an hour before Avery decided she was too hot and too tired to play. She SO reminded me of her daddy sitting in her chair with her ginormous cup of water.

The last couple of days have been quite warm so we pulled out our blow up pool! It of course had a hole in it but for one day Avery was able to make it work and we made a quick Wal-Mart run yesterday to get a new one. Poor Avery is sick- she has been running a rather high fever since Sunday afternoon but I promised her she could swim so we have just taken small swim breaks. Anna was unsure about the pool on Sunday but yesterday she loved it. Avery, however, did not want Anna in her pool because that meant no splashing. Anna may end up with her own pool before its all said and done....
